About
Kenneth Eckstein-Schoemann earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts, with a concentration in painting and printmaking, from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. His paintings explore a liminal space concept, personal experiences, and his identity. Eckstein-Schoemann focuses primarily on canvas oil paintings that explore the boundary between reality and dream- like thoughts. His recent projects are a series of paintings titled “Liminal Spaces”, which document nostalgic Americana locations overlayed with various projected animations. The animations symbolize a dream-like state interacting with the real world, reflecting his inner- thoughts and experiences. Selections of his works have been exhibited at the Museum of Science and History in Jacksonville, Florida and at the University of North Florida Carpenter Library. Eckstein-Schoemann’s works are held in various private collections.
